In his capacity, Martin Hellweg assumes an overall leadership role, acts as a management coach or serves as a board member. Currently, Martin Hellweg is Member of the Board and CEO of the Swissmetal Group, a publicly-listed Swiss company in the metals industry. The company is in the midst of a strategic repositioning, following the refinancing and restructuring of the firm. In one of his prior engagements, Martin Hellweg served as Member of the Executive Board of the Laufen Group, a Swiss-based, publicly-listed enterprise in the ceramics industry, where he restructured his areas of responsibility and contributed to the formation of a leading global ceramics manufacturer.

Prior to his engagement at the Ally Management Group, Martin Hellweg worked as a management consultant as well as in several corporate finance functions. He received an M.B.A. from the Simon Graduate School of Business of the University of Rochester, New York, where he currently serves as a member of the Alumni Advisory Board and teaches in the American as well as the Swiss branch of the program, the Rochester-Bern Executive M.B.A. Program. Recently, Martin Hellweg furthermore accepted a teaching assignment at the University of Bern.
